Heart To Heart Talk

"Hey you."

The girl who was sitting beside glanced. Smiling, and said, "hey you too."

The person who was calling her earlier just smiled, taking a glance at the sky above. It was dark, probably because it was going to rain soon. But they had no intention to get up from the spot that they were sitting. It had been an hour since they were there and the sky seemed to be disagree with their decision to stay despite the weather.

"Is this a good time to start the.." the person who was wearing a blue shoes scratched behind the neck, seemed a little hesitate to finish the sentence. Taking a glance to the girl who was now on her phone, the person said, "no it's fine."

"Finish your sentence. I'm just going to send mom a short message."

"The umm," the person hesitate again.

"The umm?" she looked at the person beside her with a strange look. By this time, she had finished sending her mom the message she was talking about.

"Heart thingy...."

"Pardon?"

"That...you know..." the person scratched again.

"Whaaaaat? I've no idea what you're talking about. Please, speak clearly."

Taking a deep breath, the person started to speak again. This time, the person was looking in front and seemed to have more confidence than before, "You do realise that you're more than everything to me. right?"

The girl nodded. "Of course you are."

"...and I wanted you to know that I'm proud of you."

The girl seemed a bit shock for a second but then smiled. She made a hand gesture as a sign for the person to keep on talking.

"Yeah. So," the person grinned.

"No, no. Finish whatever you're about to say. Don't finish it with 'yeah so'. Not this time," she protested. She faked an annoyed face.

The person laughed. The braces could be seen.

"Umm one question before I start talking back, eh?"

"Sure," she made an OK sign with her hand.

"How can you be this well? I mean, you're like crying your heart out yesterday and today you're like 'poof' I'm a happy barbie living in barbie world..."

The girl laughed, "How can you  compare me to a barbie? I'm more than that obviously." She rolled her eyes.

"No, seriously. Answer me please."

The girl changed the way she was sitting, now facing the person in front of her. "Do I have to?"

The person nodded. The person also decided to face the girl who was now seemed to have went into a serious mood slowly. Just like the person did.

"Umm. Zero - zero. Start again." Zero - zero was a game that they would always played when they were kids. One person would asked a question and the other one answered. But the question only limited to one word only. That was fair enough.

"Why?" the person started. Why did you cry yesterday?

"I've stopped crying because I'm strong."

"But that wasn't --"

"The answer is according to what I think what your question was. Are you forgetting the rule?"

"Well okay." There was no way that the person could win over the girl. "Guy?" Was it because of a guy?

"Well, sort of. Next."

"What." What did the guy do to you?

"He left me."

"How?" How can you change this fast?

"Because I know he's always with me."

"Always?" Always.

"Yes. He's like part of me."

"Sure?" Are you sure? What, how did you know he's already part of you when you're breaking up?

"Sure. In fact, he's here." She smiled.

"Where?" Wait he's here? Where is he? I really need to see him. How could he just leave you and come back now?

The girl's smile was now slowly changed to tears. The girl looked sad. She pointed the person who was facing her. Who had been asking her question.

"Me?"

"Yes and I really hate you for leaving me just like that. For not saying goodbye. But at least you show up now. That's what matter and I hope you could say at least goodbye to me this time. How could you?" Tears just could not stop falling from her eyes."

The boy looked sad too. He started to understand what the girl was talking about. "Sorry." That was all he could say right now.

"I love you. I really do. But you--"

"But I still love you. I'll always do. You're part of me. I'm part of you. Just remember that."

"I'm proud of everything that you've ever done and please, don't forget me. Us."

"I love you." The boy kissed the girl's forehead and got up on his feet.

"Leaving already?" The girl grabbed his hand desperately. Her tears still did not stop.

"It's time."

"But--"

"You're strong."

"I know, but--"

"You're strong, remember that. You can still life your live even without seeing me everyday. Just feel me inside of you. We're twins. So basically I'm always with you, even if you think what I said was stupid, but yeah. I'm with you."

"So this is your goodbye?"

He kissed her forehead once again. "Better?"

The girl nodded, letting go of his hand slowly. "I'm not going to miss you."

"But you will." He laughed. "Goodbye, sister."

"I love you."

"I know." The boy smiled.

In a blink of an eye, the boy disappeared right in front of her eyes. There was still a bit of tears but she was more calmed than before. She smiled. Goodbye.

Her phone was ringing as she was about to leave the tree house that their dad built since they were little. "Yeah mom? I was in the tree house and about to leave."

“I made you worried? Sorry”

“...”

“Nothing, I was just taking a nap.”

“...”

“No I’m not crying mom. I’m going down now.” She took few steps towards the stairs. “Oh, and Mom?”

She took a breath. “I dream of Arrian and he was saying goodbye. It’s almost a month since his death and it’s the first time he ever said goodbye.”

“...”

“No I’m not crying Mom.” She smiled.

I will always miss you little brother.
